Terms & Conditions
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of transformingmindsproject.org (the "Site") and any programs, classes, resources, forms, or communications offered through it. The Site is operated by Transforming Minds Project ("Transforming Minds Project", "we", "us", or "our"), a family focused organization based in Stockton, California.
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Site.
2. Who May Use the Site
The Site is intended for adults who are at least eighteen years old. It is designed for parents, caregivers, guardians, foster parents, and professional partners such as pediatricians, schools, social workers, and family service agencies. If you are under eighteen, please do not submit information through the Site. Ask a parent, caregiver, or a trusted adult to contact us on your behalf.
Our programs are delivered in California only, because of professional licensing requirements. Information on the Site is available to anyone, but enrollment in our programs is limited to families located in our service area.
3. Educational Services, Not Psychotherapy or Medical Care
This is the most important term in this document, so please read it carefully.
Transforming Minds Project provides parent education, parent coaching, prevention education, and community support. We do not provide psychotherapy, counseling, psychological or psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, or medical treatment, and nothing on the Site should be read as offering any of those services.
Clinical psychotherapy services are provided separately by our sister organization, Family Legacy Therapy P.C., which is a distinct legal entity operating under its own licenses, policies, and agreements. A relationship with Transforming Minds Project does not create a relationship with Family Legacy Therapy P.C., and the reverse is also true.
Content on the Site, including articles, guides, downloadable resources, and answers to frequently asked questions, is general educational information. It is not a substitute for advice from a qualified physician, licensed mental health professional, attorney, or other professional. Always seek the advice of a qualified professional with any questions about the health, development, safety, or legal circumstances of a child.
4. No Professional Relationship Is Created by Using the Site
Reading the Site, downloading a resource, submitting a form, or exchanging messages with us does not create a therapeutic, medical, or legal relationship, and does not by itself enroll you in any program. Enrollment happens only when we confirm it in writing and complete our intake process.
5. The Site Is Not for Emergencies
Do not use the Site, our forms, or email to report an emergency or an urgent safety concern. We do not monitor these channels around the clock and we cannot respond immediately.
If a child is in immediate danger, or if you or someone else is at risk of serious harm, call 911. To report suspected child abuse or neglect, contact your local child protective services agency or law enforcement. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline. Transforming Minds Project is not a reporting agency, a law enforcement agency, or a crisis service.
6. Referrals and Information You Submit About Others
Professionals and organizations may use the Site to refer a family to us. If you submit information about another person, you confirm that you have the authority or the consent required to share that information, and that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
A referral is a request, not a guarantee. Program availability, eligibility, scheduling, and the family’s own willingness to participate all affect whether a referral leads to enrollment. We do not guarantee acceptance, a specific timeline, or any particular outcome. We will communicate with the referring party only to the extent permitted by the family and by law.
7. Program Information, Availability, and Fees
We work to keep program descriptions, schedules, and eligibility information accurate and current, but details can change. Class dates, formats, locations, capacity, and staffing may be adjusted or cancelled. Where fees, donations, or grant funded places apply, the terms will be provided to you separately before you enroll. Nothing on the Site is an offer to provide services on any particular terms.
8. Acceptable Use
When you use the Site, you agree not to:
• Submit false, misleading, or deliberately harmful information.
• Impersonate another person or organization, or misrepresent your affiliation with one.
• Upload viruses, malicious code, or anything designed to disrupt or damage the Site.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our accounts, or our systems.
• Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or copy content or contact details from the Site.
• Use the Site for unlawful purposes, or to harass, threaten, or abuse any person.
• Interfere with another user’s use of the Site, or with its normal operation.
We may suspend or refuse access to the Site or to our programs if we believe these Terms have been broken, or where necessary to protect the safety of children, families, staff, or partners.
9. Communications From Us
If you contact us or enroll in a program, you agree that we may respond by email, phone, or text using the details you provide. Marketing and program announcement emails include an unsubscribe link. Messages that relate directly to a program you are enrolled in are administrative and may continue while you are enrolled.
10. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, program descriptions, handouts, and downloadable guides, is owned by Transforming Minds Project or used with permission, and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. The name Transforming Minds Project and our logo are our marks and may not be used without written permission.
You may view, download, and print our free resources for your own personal, family, or non commercial professional use, provided you do not remove any notices and do not alter the material. You may not republish, sell, license, or distribute our content, or use it to create a competing program or product, without our prior written consent. Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and other program names may be the trademarks or protected models of third parties, and are used here to describe the model we follow.
11. Third Party Links and Resources
The Site may link to other websites, hotlines, agencies, and educational materials that we did not create. These links are offered for convenience and general information. We do not control, endorse, or accept responsibility for third party content, services, or privacy practices. Your use of any third party website is at your own risk and subject to that site’s own terms.
12. Privacy
Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. That policy also explains our obligations as mandated reporters under California law, which limit the confidentiality we can offer where there is a reasonable suspicion that a child has been abused or neglected. By using the Site you acknowledge those limits.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site is free of harmful components.
We make no guarantee about the results of any program. Parenting outcomes depend on many factors that are outside our control, and no educational program can promise a particular change in a child’s behavior or a family’s circumstances.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Transforming Minds Project, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, or opportunity, arising out of or connected with your use of the Site or reliance on its content, whether based in contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Site is limited to one hundred United States dollars, or the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before it arose, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Transforming Minds Project and the people listed above from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your use of the Site, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your submission of information about another person without the necessary authority or consent.
16. Accessibility
We want the Site to be usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. If you encounter a barrier or need information in another format, please contact us and we will work with you to provide the content in a way that meets your needs.
17. Changes to the Site and to These Terms
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time, and we may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised date. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, please stop using the Site.
18. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or to any program at our discretion, including where we believe these Terms have been broken or where continued access would create a risk to any person. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.
19. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Joaquin County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Before starting any formal proceeding, we ask that you contact us so that we can try to resolve the matter informally.
20. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Transforming Minds Project regarding the Site. You may not assign your rights under these Terms; we may assign ours in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of our programs.
